Space Adventures ( professes to be the world’s first and only operational space line, and the hub of the nascent space tourism industry. They offer orbital spaceflight (to the International Space Station, for example) and professional grade training. A flight to the ISS goes for a cool $20 million. You travel to Russia, train at Star City, and fly on rockets from the world’s first spacefaring nation. Suborbital flights, available in a couple of years from sites in North America, cost about $200,000. (At right, Dennis Tito, world’s first private astronaut, celebrates his new status.
